This weeks challenge at Tiddly Inks Challenge blog is best friends. I made this little cutie card for my bff Danielle. We have been friends for 34 years! We met when we were 4, probably just around Wryn's age, so this seems appropriate :)

I'm also entering this for Color Me Creative Classrooms copic challenge I have been loving coloring with my copics lately and I sure can't wait for Suzanne to bring her teaching talents to Vancouver this summer, I'll be the crazy nutter with the tent pitched outside the scrappy store waiting for the classes to start ;)

Love is hanging about

This card makes me think of lazy summer days when love was just hanging about on a swing waiting for the cute boy from down the street to come on by.....oh to be 8 again! lol

Ok so I made this card for the Wednesday Challenge over at All That Scraps challenge blog this two week challenge is "Anything Goes" as long as you have an image that was purchased from their site you are good to go. I've incorporated some vellum onto my card because my friend Kristen on one of my online groups has a valentines card challenge going on to include vellum. I was a bit stumped as I don't use vellum often, but then I remembered Amy R's wonderful card where she used these lovely butterflies (also from All That Scraps store) on her card and I loved the. So vellum butterflies it is.

I also colored the image with my copic markers for the CMC Copic challenge group weekly challenge; this week the challenge is the colors of love.

"Friends are the Flowers of Life - Tiddly Inks Blog Hop"

Hi everyone! Today is another first for me. I'm participating in the Tiddly Inks Blog Hop going on over HERE

I recently purchased these adorable Wryn images, how could I not? They are adorable! Of course I had to have the whole bundle of them ;)

Anyhow, the theme of the blog hop is Friends are the Flowers of Life. So I created a birthday card for my best friend Danielle, it's her birthday today!

Here's my creation;

I used two paper pads for the patterned paper (both older) one was Quite Contrary: Jack and Jill, the other was Origins by Basic Grey. I colored Wryn with my prisma pencil crayons and added a little bling to her hair clip. The ribbon is a generic but yummy satin yellow.

I'm a huge fan of AmyR and all her sentiment stamps, I just love how she does a little bit on the inside of her cards, so taking a page out of her book I've added a little something to the inside. Of course using one of her sentiment stamp sets helps.

Valentines treat holder

Hello bloggy friends. Today's post is created for two challenges. My good friend Rachel has a Valentines treat holder challenge on our private message board and All That Scraps has a Wednesday challenge and this week is anything goes. To meet the Wednesday challenge requirements of use a stamp from the All That Scraps store I used a sentiment stamp from AmyR's Valentines set.

This was also my first go at making a box with my cricut tags, bags and boxes cartridge. Think it turned out alright :)

Hi. It's Friday night but I'm now finished my very first entry into Tuesday Morning Sketches. I've looked for a few weeks and finally found the time to play along.

The two mini envelopes actually come out and have little pieces of paper in them that someone could write on. I work will a large group of men so I plan of having a basket of cards that they can purchase for their wives for Valentines Day :) Helping them all look good, it's what I do ;)

Treat holder

Happy New Year everyone!
So happy to have a few days at home to play with my scrappy stuff!
I was browsing about for challenges to get my Valentines mojo flowing and I found the Wednesday Challenge over at All That Scraps has a new treat holder challenge. I've created a little treat holder (I'll probably put a gift certificate in it) for Valentines Day. I used one of Amy R's sentiment stamps to qualify for the challenge. I love her sentiments, I think I've almost bought every set that All That Scraps has!

Ok here's my treat holder;

I had purchased a package of ribbon from Michaels for my Valentines creations and when I pulled them out I looked at the packaging and thought "well isn't that a handy little package" so I decorated it up and it's good to use!

Imaginisce Monthly challenge

I needed a little something to do, just a little filler :) Girls gotta have her scrappy time even during Christmas. So I looked about and what did I find but a Imaginisce challenge. I have never done one yet. So I'm a "newbie" here. :)

The challenge was a color challenge, you can see it HERE

I used core-dination paper for the tags and then imaginisce pattern paper for the decorating. I'm killing a few birds with one stone for these as I am going to use them for my co-workers gifts :)

Betty home maker today!

I'm feeling more like my "old" self lately. I think it has taken awhile for me to feel settled into Vancouver life. But now that I've had my job for over a year and have gotten into a routine, I can now feel the home maker coming back. Today I decided it was time to tackle making Minestrone soup. Zoe's favourite soup. I also made biscuits with cheese, as those are Summer's favourites! I was so impressed with myself that I even took a few pictures!

I also managed to go with Eddy to get groceries from 7:30-9:00, went to the hairdresser for a dye job at 10:00, came home to do some laundry and make the soup & biscuits...oh and I made a card too.

This is for my friend Gloria's challenges for December. Die cut flower and a sketch. I actually used my cricut flower shoppe cartridge for my first flower today!

Anyhow, just wanted to share a bit of my betty home maker day.

Santa Challenge

Who doesn't love a challenge that involves Santa? I like anything that involves Santa. Quick little story before my card. Harley (my 9 year old) is on the verge of not believing in Santa, it started last year. I'm pretty good at keeping the "santa" stuff completely different from the rest of the gifts under the tree. I have "santa" wrap that nobody sees and Santa needs a little help with his handwriting because it looks like it's done with someone's left hand ;) ;) So he says to the girls (his older sisters) "Santa's not real you know" to which they reply "yes he is". He then thinks for a minute "I know that Santa is Mom". The girls then reply "well you can think it's mom but if you don't believe in Santa he won't come put any presents under the tree for you, you have to believe to receive". I was very impressed with the girls at this point. He then says "well I want Santa to put presents under the tree for me so I believe". The girls then say with the most sarcastic look on their faces as they could muster up (only because they knew they had the opportunity to get away with it) "as if Mom would be such a dork to put her own presents under the tree from Santa". Oh I love my teenage girls. I believe so I receive, even if the girls are getting coal this year! ;)
Ok ok enough of my life with teenagers.....

Here's my card for the Santa challenge going over in Cheryl's corner of the world.

Luckily I had a Santa image printed from last year as I have yet to figure out now that I have a MacBook how to print my digital images. See I don't have word on this new computer, I think I may have to break down and get word or I'm going to not be able to play....and mom's that don't have playtime and have teenagers....that's a story for Lockdown on T.V. ;)

Sassy Cheryl's show me #53

this shelf holds a box with all the swap items I have. I love this box because if I'm making something and I don't feel like making that exact embellishment I go to this box and usually find what I need!

Sassy Cheryls "show me" challenge 21!

Wow, I remember taking part in the first few Show Me challenges over at Sassy Cheryl's Blog. Now they are at 21! Hopefully I don't stay away and then they are at 42! So here's my space. I've been gutting and downsizing. I must admit, like alot of other fellow crafters, I enjoy the "buying" supplies part of crafting. But I've recently came to the conclusion that if I ever want to go on a holiday I best learn new practices around money! lol So gutting the house and seeing what I already own is a good start. And I own alot of crafty stuff! I don't use half of it. So it's time. So here's the big gut in the making;

Wow...yet again it's been far too long since I've blogged. I've been working mostly. Not sure if it's age or learning but work is kickin' my butt! It's probably neither of those and more the fact that I'm not taking care of myself the way I used to, even just a year ago used to. It's funny how we let ourselves become not our top priority so easily. I've forgotten how good it feels to eat healthy all the time, I've forgotten how good it feels to surround myself daily with laughter, I've forgotten how good it feels to exercise daily (not every couple weeks)....here I was thinking someone reading this might give me some advise...shed some light...but I think I may have shed it for myself. I need to put myself back on the list. Top of the list actually. Cause like the airplane air mask theory, if I ain't breathing there's no way I can help anyone else. :)

First thing I can do, that I should always be doing, that I do most of the time, just not ALL the time, is eat healthier. Starting tomorrow I will. Like I said, this won't be a big change for me. Just needs some tweakin'.

With this nice weather who wouldn't wanna get out and walk. I think it's time. I think I'll go for a walk.

Sketch Support Challenge

Morning. Wow it sure has been a few days since I last blogged ;) Well I must admit I found yet another strange addiction. Well strange to most of you, but not to me. Couponing! Yay, saving money to spend on my other addiction, scrapbooking, win win! ;) So now that I have the couponing under control I can get back to my regular programming which is scrapbooking. :)

Have you heard the news? Sketch Support opened up January 1st! If you don't know what that is well I'll tell you. I think it's about THE best place to get scrappy inspired if your ever looking. Yes there's loads of other great wonderful sites, but Sketch Support is by far my favourite :) Allison Davis, find her blog HERE, used to do "sketch week" once a month on her blog. With so much naggin', beggin' and pleadin' the poor lady got tired of us all and opened up a Sketch Support blog, with the help of others of course ;)
So now we get to see her creations, along with a whole great design team, for a whole month at a time, over and over, like it NEVER ends. See THE best. So head on over and have a look if you want.
Oh right, the reason I'm posting ;)
So there's a challenge over at Sketch Support and nothing better to get my butt back to scrapbooking than a challenge. You can find the challenge HERE.

Color Me Challenge #3 is happening over at Sassy Cheryls blog. My card from challenge #2 won. It was a very proud happy day for me. Really proved to me that if you don't try you won't win. So I tried and won. Now I'm really hooked on the fun. Yes Yes it's also because you get the images at a discounted rate, I am a thrifty girl you know ;) All these Christmas challenges are helping my Christmas card stash!

Show Me #3

Another chance to show off our spaces over at Sassy Cheryl's. All you need to do is take a picture of your crafty space, post it, snoop around a bit, leave some love, wait to see who wins a freebie image just for playing. Ain't life grand! :) Well it is in my world.

Ok so the low down on my space. My scrafty (scrapbooking/crafting) space is shared with my son Harley. Well it's technically his room but he's young, so I can invade. He actually likes it alot. He spends alot of time hanging out with me. Sometimes he creates a card or colors, other times it's all about the xbox. To which I hear "hey mom look at this trick". He's getting pretty good at the skateboarding tricks I tell yeah! So back to my room. After looking at last weeks picture and feeling a big "pinched" for space on my table I decided to rearrange a bit. It's a fault of mine....organizing and tidying. I've just recently gotten over straightening all the blankets on the couch's every night....give me time for the scrafty space.
So the pictures. First up my table....all cleared and more space to sprawl out when I'm creating. Judging by the pictures I think I may need to clean and stain my table soon, it never did get done. But then again it gives it character right?? ;)

Next up the newly arranged drawer/embellishment area. I promise everything has a place and I can find most things in 2 minutes....most. ;)

The cupboard I love. I love that it holds so many baskets of love and then I can close it up and pretend it doesn't exist. (don't worry it doesn't stay closed for more than a day at a time)

What can I say, I love crafting. It makes me happy. And we all know a happy mom/wife = happy life :)

Color Me Challenge #2

Color Me Challenge #2 is happening over at Sassy Cheryl's. It's a new thing she's doing. We get to purchase the image at a discounted rate and then we can submit our coloring/card. If she likes your color choices your card is featured and she will use it as a model to do her own coloring. See at first I didn't want to play along with this one, cause let me tell you, some of these women, I wonder if all they do is color they are THAT good. But then I thought about it....it's really not the coloring talent as much as it is the color choices. Which I can do. Anyone can do really. So after some of said women twisted and yanked my arm I decided to post my card. Here it is: (please be gentle & kind) lol

I also tried my hand at paper piecing....I did the hat & scarf....I like it...it's just alot of work! ;) This card also works for Sassy Cheryl Challenge blog....this weeks challenge "Count down to Christmas"....two for the price of one ;)

Our life lately....

Well our life has been full and busy lately! Thought I'd share some "going's on" with you....mostly to fill the void in my Sunday afternoon!

We decided that our bedroom needed a makeover....and honestly new furniture is easier than new paint (yes we live in a yellow submarine!) Old bed:

Playin' with Cheryl

So today I decided to play along with Sassy Cheryl :) I just love her images and she has a new thing she's doing weekly.....Show Me is her fun new weekly show off what your working on or what your space looks like post. I just love this, I've participated in it before with other blogs and haven't for awhile so I thought what the heck. I took the picture the other night but haven't posted till today. Hopefully next week I'll be a little more "with" it but don't count on it ;)

You don't have to be working on anything from Cheryl's images in particular to participate, it's just fun! I do however happen to have a set of her Color Me Challenge Cappuccino Anyone Snowman guys printed out, working on some Christmas gifts/tags :) The idea here is you get to purchase the image posted for a reduced rate and you color it and submit it for Cheryl's inspiration, if you want. I however do not find my coloring that spectacular but I'm not passing up a weekly deal on Cheryl's images :) Maybe one day I'll submit, for now I'll stick to you having a peak at my space ;) So pop on over if you wanna have a look at what others are up to or if you wanna have a looky at her fabby images. Little crafty....

So I got a little crafty yesterday :) Not sure how I found the time but I did. Life seems to have taken over, work, kids, school...ahhh....I need a vacation ;) Just kiddin' I love my job! I'm loving being back in the "working world", yes it's been an adjustment, but I feel like I'm getting there. To that comfortable space between work time and me time. So I was able to craft a little, also hoping to craft a little tomorrow...on turkey day ;)

Halloween Door Hanger

Hello :)

Today I'm posting the Halloween door hanger I made the other day using Paul's tutorial. Yes I made the door hanger so that I can have 3 more entries into his blog candy...but I'm glad I did it because it was a fun little project to make. I had to make a few adjustments because the doorknobs in this house are much bigger than the ones that Paul has obviously made his for. But it was very easy to adjust as Paul's instructions were super easy to follow!

I think I might actually make them for all the kids and put a new toothbrush in the holder for Halloween ;)

I came across a post I just couldn't walk away from tonight on Alison's free digital stamps blog, a request for help if you can. Her father has had a stroke and her parents are having a hard time financially. So Alison has gathered together some amazing and super great artists and come up with a great digital stamp pack that we can purchase and the money goes to her parents. How super easy is that? I love all the images so of course I purchased them :) So now I'm posting here just in case you wanna have a look see for yourself. (Digital images are "usually" $3.00 plus each....so 5/$10.00 is a good deal)

Eddy...getting dressed hits his belt on the metal bedframe

Eddy...sarcasticly as he can says "and the police cars didn't wake you up?"
Lisa....trying to be a city girl says "of course not...so shhhhh"
Eddy....says "piss off jerk"
Gosh I love him

Last night:
Lisa....in the bathroom brushing my teeth
Eddy....comes to the door and decides it's a good time to hold my butt while I brush my teeth
Lisa...accidently farts
Eddy....(with the most disgusted looked I've seen to date) "REALLLLLLY?"
Lisa...."I didn't mean to"....(while peein' in my pants)
Lisa....(in my head)...it's really just payback for the fart last week that Eddy released straight into the fan while I was just about to laydown on the bed....so said fart went directly, and I mean no passing go here, to my brain cavity....see payback.
Eddy....(to me this a.m. as we are laughing about it) "I'm logging that into my payback book"

Ok followers, first off thanks for your patience! lol I know I have been promising pictures of the house and my scrappy space....but guess what...it's a mess already....so I'll clean up today when the kids are gone to their dads and then take pictures! I have found the camera cable cord so I'm good to go! ;)

I did however manage to play a bit! yay!

Over at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge Blog there is a photo inspiration challenge. Not easy for me usually, but this time it just flowed out of me....maybe the two months of not being able to craft helped!

2 weeks and counting!

Two weeks from now the moving truck will once again be outside my house. Boxes are getting packing, items are being donated, dirt seems to be growing....but most imporantly I feel happy. I'm 100% living my life. I'm in love with a great man, I have super great supportive parents, I have happy busy exciting kids, I have the best friends a girl could ask for! AND I'm NOT waiting for it all to end...cause it won't. Yes that's something I used to do...but not anymore!

It feels good knowing that this time I'm jumping with both feet while holding someone's hand. Thanks for that Eddy! :)

I don't have pictures to share because our computer is down and out again....two things in life I'm cursed with....computer problems (thankfully my mom is a computer fixer wiz) and moving (thankfully I can pack like nobody's business and my kids adjust well!) So I guess I`m not realllly cursed! ;)

So two weeks from now we will pack the truck and take the ferry across the big water and become `townies`as my Grandpa likes to call himself. It will be nice to enjoy a few dates with my Grandpa and Jean!

Well...guess I better run and pack....just giving you all an update....I have not disappeared...just lost in boxes! ;)

Occupied lately....little of this...little of that...and not a whole lot of crafting. We are moving....to Vancouver at the end of July. So I am currently in the "moving" mode....which means I'm not very creative at all....my mind is on houses to rent, moving costs, packing, damage deposit, living with a man again! yikes! ;) All good things...just not crafty things....but then...does my blog just have to be about crafts...no.

So anyhow...I'm not much in the mood for writing so I'll share some current photo's to occupy my viewers ;)

Ok I finally gave in. Blogger was driving me nuts! The sidebar picture links were not working...for dayyyyysss on end, and I had no idea how to fix them. Blogger help center is no help. So after days of frustration I changed my sidebars ;) I've added link gadgets instead of picture gadgets. Sorry there won't be any pictures of the wonderful places I visit or the yummy candy that is out there...but for now this is the only way to have my links work! And I want you to be able to go to where I go to...where I play...learn...have fun! Hope this way works for awhile!

WOYWW week 51

Well another week has gone by already...it's true the older you get the more time flies! But I'm having fun so I won't complain! ;)

I decided to do a tidy after looking at last weeks pictures....the clutter drives me nuts...even if it's just looks cluttery (is that a word?) ha ha

So here's my main desk...clean & tidy:

This week I decided to pan to the right & down...so this is to the right of my desk

Soon I would like to paint all my wooden items chocolate brown...I think when we move that will happen.

I love my ribbon hanging...I use it way more...and in the plastic hanging thingy's (yes another lisa word) are my printed off digital images....I always print a full sheet...lord knows I'm not talented enough to print on a tiny piece of cardstock and I won't waste ;)

.....and this is to the right even more...actually behind me if I am standing at my desk.

I got this shelf at Ikea...I love ikea.

......and this is to the right of my desk and down.

The black and brown units are paper packs from Costco...I barely use them...just not my style of paper.

To the left of them is my scrap paper...one unit for cardstock and one unit for patterned paper....seems to make me use scraps more...so it works ;)

The white and green containers are photo's....the green holds the two years I'm behind...the white holds "didn't make it into the books" photo's...the kids get to have at that container!

Masculine Mo!

Mo's Digital Pencil challenge this week is "masculine". Thankfully she has given away a masculine image cause I have yet to get my sticky glittery little fingers on any others! lol

My son Harley has a birthday party (well he's there now! lol) today and he needed a money card. I'm so happy people are ok with getting cash now! Easy peasy! I got the star card free online...sorry the name escapes me right now....printed that on blue and attached to the front of the card. The kraft card is actually just card fronts (didn't read the whole package apparently) so it worked for attaching the star card to the front. The making memories pp worked perfect too...with the crown...matchy matchy to the "charming" image :)

Today's card is for a friends little girl...she is turning 1 on May 23rd. I helped her make the invitations yesterday so I figured I'd get the card done today before I forget! It was nice helping to do the invitations because I learned that her toy box is over flowing...but they are excited to be saving to build her a playground in their backyard...so a donation to that is perfect! So a money pocket card it is! I did see this idea online the other day, so it's not original but sorry I can't remember where I saw it or I would link it up!

The Oh Alice! challenge this week is to incorporate "food" into your card. The pattern paper I have with the cherries and apples was a perfect starting point!

I keep seeing all these desks on Wednesday's in my google reader...I've checked out what's going on with the "WOYWW" thing plenty of times but either been too chicken or too lazy to post my desk. Well today I felt like playing along! So here's what my desk looks like this a.m.

Pretty Pin Embellishments is open for business!

A few of you may have noticed lately some "pretty pins" have started to appear on my cards. Well I saw a need for something so I created it! Now I have the blog up and running so anyone who wants some "pretty pins" can hop on over and purchase some!

In celebration of finally being open for business I thought I would run a little blog candy! yay! I know we all love us some candy!

Afternoon all! So Tam over at Canadian Scrap Swap & Chat has issued a "today only" challenge! yay! I love it when that happens right when I'm about to work on my list of challenges already! The challenge was to create a card with 5 things that are on your desk and only on your desk, with the exception of card stock. At first I thought it might be a challenge for me because I typically (not always) keep my desk pretty tidy....lol...this is what I walked into today:

LOL there was plenty to choose from because apparently it was a "non-cleaning up afteryourselfday yesterday"!
So this is the little card I created....even with that much to go with I had a hard time not cheating!

I used:

inked the edges of card stock

image (was on the desk with piles of others...thankfully!)

stickles

There you go....a great challenge....something fun!

Motivet blog candy!

Motivet is having a blog candy in celebration that their baby girl is 1month old already....can you believe how quickly those little critters grow! Speaking of Motivet I won two of their stamps back when their baby was born and I haven't inked them yet...they are just so pretty to look at in the package...I'll ink them today in honour of their celebration! yay! Morning all! I came across a few pictures of Eddy & I while I was downloading my ATC pictures. One of the things I love about Eddy (yes there is still many at this stage ;) ) is that he has the same sense of humour when it comes to picture taking....well his is actually probably more twisted! I have the tendency to take many many self portraits (of myself and us together) and in about 50% of them he looks like this in the background:

Anyhow...back to the reason I was downloading pictures to start with. I'm hosting an ATC swap on Canadian Scrap Chat and Swap. The swap is to make a "summer" set and a "spring" set. This is my "summer" set....my "spring" set will be flowery!

I was so excited yesterday because my Hero Arts background stamps came in the mail. My friend Gloria picked them up in Vancouver for me and mailed them over! yay! I got the flourish background and cling dots! I used them both on my ATC. Fun!

Well I'm a little behind...but I like the saying "better late than never" (not when it comes to Eddy though...he is on the "disliking" side of lateness ;) ) So Gloria is kind enough to offer up a challenge for us gals at Canadian Scrap Swap & Chat two times per month....she is also kind in that she gives us all month to get both done! Boys will be boys!!......

Hi All.........Hockey was alive and well all weekend! What better way to enjoy a weekend than to watch it with a 7 year old, and then play it with him? Here's the 2 of us just enjoying the game and the munchies that Lisa had made for us. What a girl? Even though the outcome was a loss in overtime we had fun. Anyways, this was just the beginning as we had a birthday party to go to the next day........and yup, it was a hockey party. 40 little boys, some adults just playing some good old fashioned road hockey!! Good time had by all, with the exception of our daughter Summer. Even though she didn't complain it was plain to see that a road hockey game in the middle of a Sunday isn't her idea of a good time. Thanks for being a trooper Summer!! Lisa and myself had a great time and are having a great time playing with the kids!! Until next time, Eddy.

Travel Journal

I made a simple travel journal this week for Al (Eddy's bestfriend/roommate). He is off to Thailand soon and with him being of the "male" orientation I figured he might not think to bring a journal to write in or anything to keep the little bits and pieces of travelling.....do men keep that stuff or is it just us scrapbookers? Anyhow...I made him one so he's best to use it! lol

Just ~~needed~~ wanted to show you all that I have team spirit too....and I have the kid on my side! Ok Ok he would probably be on Eddy's side but Eddy's not here right now is he! lol

How could we not pull out our jerseys! Yes I will be doing a scrapbook layout with this dandy of a photo!

As for Eddy's "offer" for me to grow hair where ever I please....no thanks...I like razor's...like to use them...like the feel of them after. I'll think of something though....stay tuned....and if your so inclined feel free to leave ~~payback~~ motivational options ;)

The Playoffs are on!!....and the beard too!!

Hi everyone........well my team is starting the playoffs tonight. I guess by now most of you have heard about the "playoff beards" that most men grow when the spring rolls around and our favorite team has a chance to hoist the cup. I started mine on Tuesday and I know this gets Lisa hot....lol. Anyways, WE are excited to get this journey to the cup started and see what happens in a couple of months. I can't explain the purpose of the beard but I've done it as hockey player when I was younger and have done it ever since.....when the Canucks made the playoffs of course. So, I will get Lisa to take some pictures every weekend to see the progress of the beard and hopefully you can see it grow over the next couple of months!! Lisa calls this the bait and switch tactic.....but like most women, doesn't understand the magnitude of the beard. She will soon find out that I'm not the only one when she sees some of the grizzled veterans on T.V.. I have put a offer out there for her to grow some sort of hair too, but I will leave that up to yours and hers imagination........lol. Unitl next time, Eddy.
