Today is Tamara's birthday! So I had to make a little card. I am actually really enjoying making smaller size cards! Anything from 3x3 to 5x5....just seems fun?

So I made this little card for her birthday.

OCC Sketch Challenge

Another week...another OCC sketch challenge! You know what I like most about sketches? That there is so many different takes on one sketch! It's amazing to see how people create so many different things from one base sketch! Fun!

I am loving all this creating...but one thing I'm not loving is my picture taking skills! Any advice out there would be great! I can't seem to get a half decent picture of my cards....they are either blurry if I use no flash or they are washed out because of the flash! So frustrating! Eddy is going to see if he can give me some tips when he come for the weekend today....but any other advice would also be welcome!

Cuttlebug Challenge

Another first for me. Participation in the cuttlebug challenge...you can find it HERE.

The challenge is to use a cuttlebug folder and add some stitching to your card/project. I don't own a sewing maching and I lost my needle, so the fact that I was able to add some stitching to my card is in itself a challenge! lol I used my paper piercer to add the holes and then managed to poke the floss thru the holes I made. I had planned more stitching...but that is a whole different post! (frustration!) lol

So here's my card...with again another Bugaboo stamp (no I'm not being paid off in stamps! lol I just love them!) I think I'm living my hair dreams thru these girls! lol I'd love to have funky red, green or purple hair one day...but I somehow don't think that would go over to well with my kids, parents or Eddy! I embossed the heart with silver embossing powder! Like I said I wish there was more stitching....maybe I need to start wishing for a sewing machine :)

Motivet Blog Sketch Challenge

My second time participating with the Motivet sketch challenge. I only have one of their images (which was a freebie) so for now I use him over and over.  I used my copics to color him in again, but didn't like the turnout of my color as much as I did the first time....but I will keep at it!

Paper Hugs Inspiration Challenge

Well I have been participating alot for me lately...and trying out lots of new things! One of the cards I created today was for a "inspiration challenge" over at Paper Hugs Blog. The challenge was to go over to Paper Crafts Connection and be inspired by something on their blog....for me it was the banner. I loved the pink/reddish color and the simple black lines, also the orange cup and the swirl of the leaf in the heading.

I used my prismacolor pencil crayons and gamsol to color this one...I'm a little frustrated with my copics today! lol Anyways here it is...hope you like it!

My first "purchased" digital

Up until today I only had "freebie" digitals. I gotta say purchasing some is so fun, even though I didn't really purchase them...my fabulous boyfriend Eddy did...and he went thru a few emails back and forth with Jodie to get them...love I tell yah right there...LOVE!! I love the skelekinz line from Bugaboo stamps and can't wait for some boy skelekinz (yes I've put in my request to Jodie :) )

So I used this cutie pie image to create a card that will work for two challenges.  First I used the sketch challenge at OCC sketch blog then I added in some flowers to make it work for the flowers challenge over at Pile it on challenge blog.

I can't wait to get back in my craft room and play some more....but I gotta eat! ;) lol

This was also the first time I inked the edges with black...not 100% sure if I like it or not...maybe it will grow on me ;)

Something different!

I have plenty of challenges on my list to keep me busy thru the weekend but for some reason just don't want to be scrappy tonight....so I did something I haven't done in a LOOOONNNNG time! I painted! I have had this blank canvas sitting in the garage for years...thinking, wondering, imagining what I would paint on it, or even if I would be the one to paint it...maybe one of the kids would one day.  So I walked out tonight, grabbed it, torn the plastic off it and started painting. I think the trying to figure out shading etc. with the copics has inspired me to learn more about how colors mix and blend, how they like to play together! So this was my first attempt, it's not exactly what I pictured in my mind, but is art ever?

Then I started...but soon realized the way I was doing it the paint was going to dry too quick and so I needed to start at one end and mix as they were wet.

I think I got the hang of it!

I'm happy with it....like I said not exactly what I imagined...but then again when is anything what we imagine ;)

Motivet Sketch with Digital Image Challenge

Well another first for me...the use of a digital image!! Motivet gave the image free...so I played :) I am learning to just play with my copics and "see" how they work.  I've looked at a couple tutorials, they help, but really playing is the best way...for me! :)

Die Cuts R Us Blog Challenge

I found myself yet another challenge to participate in (yes I know there's hundreds ;) ) This weeks challenge over at diecutsrusdesignteam.blogspot is to create a card using no designer papers at all. It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, but I believe like anything you get better over time...with practice ;) lol

So here's mine:

I know alot of people put their "recipe" for how they made the card...frankly I don't know what half the stuff is or who made it because I don't keep packaging....so it seems silly to put half the stuff and then put "don't know" for the remainder....besides is there a blog rule about this ;)

My kids!

Valentines Weekend!

Eddy & I spent our first Valentines together this past weekend! Boy did we have fun! If you read my blog you've seen the items I made for Eddy....HE LOVED THEM! I love that he appreciates my homemade items and loves them for not only what they are but for all the hard work that goes into them! Yes I'm one lucky girl...and he feel's he's one lucky guy.  How many girlfriends/wives out there do you think would be happy to spend the day (5 hours) with their man on the golf course?? He KNOWS he's lucky! I didn't golf because I've just had wrist surgery 10days ago but I walked and then drove the cart! :) Oh and took a few pictures along the way! It was the most beautiful sunny day so I can't complain!

GAAAAASSSSSPPP

That was the sound that I made when my best girlfriend said she was going to stop at the $store to pick up some Valentine's cards for her 4 girls (3 are her's, 1 is exchange student) I Gaspppped into the phone....then quickly said "no your not! I'll whip something up and drop it off today on my way out of town." She of course was not wanting to put me out. To which you ALL know my reply "no worries at all, I'm crafting anyways!" lol Which I actually was going to be because I had yet to make my kids cards at that point!

I knew exactly what to make all these teenage/pre-teen girls....and of course my one little guy ;)

Here's what I whipped up....I love that they can use the button's on their coats, or bags, or purses...who knows with girls!

Eddy's Valentine!! shhhhh

This is the project I've been working on for a few days for my man Eddy.  We met on the online dating site plenty of fish so I wanted to make something that reminded us of that.  I printed off the pictures that we each had on our profile as well as our write-ups.  I had the PERFECT paper to go with this project...the fish just make it work!

Now this contest got me really out of my "element"!! But boy oh boy was it fun!! Birthday LO

I'm on a roll today!! I have only one more LO to complete and I'm done January 2010.  What next you ask...catch up on the 3.5 years I'm behind, just want to stay current while I'm doing it!

I had surgery on my wrist on friday. I can't move my wrist but I can use my fingers again...so if you were to catch me in my scraproom you'd look at me funny...I know I look funny trying to do it!
